Our Story
Nestled on the tip of south Texas, there is an area encompassed by good hunting and fishing, miles of beaches and many Spanish treasures. But in Raymondville, Texas, there is another treasure-generations of Wetegrove sweet onions, which have grown there for over 100 years.
Onions grown in south Texas are boasted as being some of the sweetest around. For the Wetegroves, thought, it's more than just how sweet the onions are. What truly matters to the Wetegrove family is the sense of pride they feel producing sweet onions year in and year out.
"There's so much history here," says Charles Wetegrove. Old pictures line the wall of the Charles Wetegrove Company office, a testament to the years the family has dedicated to the industry. The wall has come to house quite a collection after four generations.
